Nutrient Disorders

  • Iron

Symptoms: interveinal yellowing or whitening beginning on apical leaves with veins remaining green.

  • Magnesium

Symptoms: interveinal chlorosis beginning on oldest leaves and continuing to younger leaves. Midribs remain green and leaves may become necrotic.

  • Manganese

Symptoms: a checkerboard appearance of interveinal yellowing which starts on apical leaves and near the main veins.

  • Nitrogen

Symptoms: plant stunting may occur and oldest leaves turn chlorotic while younger leaves turn yellowish-green.

  • Phosphorus

Symptoms: leaves on young seedlings turn purplish and leaves on older plants are weak and turn reddish-purple on the undersides.
